My classroom is mixed in every way possible, just as our school. I have 21 bright eyed and energetic kindergarten students. My students need less time sitting in their chairs and more time taking part in hands on learning opportunities that are still educational. Our school has almost a 50% free and reduced lunch rate. We are finding that more of my students are coming to kindergarten without the background knowledge gained from preschool.
