We moved to a new building in 2018, and prior to this we were Art-On-A-Cart, which is very limited. Our students are still learning how to use our basic art tools, and are in a desperate need of replacing the ones we have (broken scissors and leftover crayons, dry markers, pastels, and color sticks). We need brushes and paints to learn about great masters such as Van Gogh's Starry Night, or simply paint beautiful flowers and snowy trees in the winter while learning about grayscale. We use glue with our construction paper, especially during holidays, and with 408 students we go through a lot of it. We love the rich color of pastels and the way we can blend them on the paper, especially when we learned about Northern Lights. Our younger students could perfect their fine motor skills with the Do-A-Dot projects using paper plates and the markers, making fish and snakes of many different colors of scales. Many of our projects, especially watercolor painting, need prior outlining, and black Sharpies are in great need to keep our projects neatly outlined and traced. Help us create and enjoy our art lesson with a new sets of art materials.
