In our classroom, most of our students are non verbal so we have to find new and interesting ways of keeping them engaged and wanting to tell us things. We use pictures to make choices, to talk about our friends, and even to tell us what they don't want to do. We need the ability to take real pictures that are more meaningful to our students and we need quick access to those pictures so we don't loose the students attention or desire to talk. Having pictures of all the toys in the classroom allows my students to tell me, using pictures, what they want to play with. Being able to snap a new picture of the food at lunch in case the menu changes gives my students the opportunity to tell me if they want to eat that or chose something different. These are choices verbal students get to make everyday, multiple times a day. All of the requested items will directly enhance my students communication skills at school and home giving them a voice through pictures in order to communicate like their peers.
