At my Title I school, we have received a once in a lifetime opportunity, to attend a leadership conference in Orlando, Florida. I'm requesting monies for rooms at the Orlando Hilton & Resorts hotel. As a DECA Advisor, I encourage my students to participate in competitive events and future enterprise. With the funds requested, students are able to travel to a leadership conference in Florida. Student members participate in DECA’s Emerging Leader Series, which helps them attain 21st Century Skills in the areas of collaboration and teamwork, communication, critical thinking, and problem solving and creativity. One highlight is the involvement of executive mentors who provide college and career advice. With your help, students are able to have a learning experience with corporate professionals. Students can engage in learning hospitality industry-related trends. The conference also provides college and career preparation through a variety of workshops and speakers. Most students from my school have lowered expectations about future outcomes, my hope is to create a positive attitude and increase student involvement on campus. I believe a real world experience would benefit these high achieving students and give them a sense of pride and accomplishment. Please help our emerging leaders and entrepreneurs.
