In my class, we typically use the library copies of the novels. However, this year I would like the opportunity to let each student have their own book so that they can journal their feelings and connections as they go through the text. Often we don't take that "in the moment" time to reflect on our impressions while reading. I want to help foster an opportunity for students to see how much power a book can provide when given the opportunity. Every child deserves the right to lose themselves within the pages of their own book. I want this year's experience to be more than just reading, I want it to be a game changer.
