My bilingual kindergarten students are so unbelievable resilient and deserve so much more than I can provide for them. Even though many of them live in a high level of poverty, they come to school every day with smiles on their faces and ready to learn. The students would greatly benefit from a new bilingual classroom carpet. It will help them improve their alphabet knowledge and letter sounds on a daily basis. I am also requesting some writing utensils like crayons, and colored pencils. Since we do a lot of writing, we go through a lot of supplies! A weekly Spanish Reader is also being requested. By reading this every week, the students will be able to practice things like concepts of print, specifically using 1 to 1 matching, identifying the title and front cover, and knowing that readers read left to write, top to bottom.
