These books will help my students build on their academic vocabulary in Spanish. At the same time, they will help differentiate between my heritage speakers and my non-heritage speakers. The books I have chosen include different reading levels to meet my students literacy level and eventually increase their reading in the target language. Additionally, my students will have the opportunity to learn about history of famous people in North America and their contribution to the country in the target language. Furthermore, these books are authentic in which they are written in Spanish and students can see themselves and their communities reflected.
