Having technology in the classroom allows my children to become comfortable in the digital age we now live in. In my classroom, students have reading and math learning centers daily. The iPads will be used in learning centers for both reading and math. The apps available on the iPad are excellent for the skills in my classroom. There are hundreds of reading, math, science, and social studies apps available for this age group. They will be learning while having fun playing games. In addition to the apps, students will use the iPads for QR codes in all subject areas. Students can scan the QR code and a book is read aloud to them. They can listen to books about science, social studies, and/or seasonal topics. Students will use the iPads for Osmos, Moby Max, and Epic. During whole group instruction students will use the iPads to do research during science and social studies, and to play Kahoot during reading and math instruction. I hope you can see how important the iPads can be in my first grade classroom. With the iPads, my students will be able to experience interactive educational tools that will prepare them for success as digital learners. My students will be ready to work in a tech-savvy environment when they get a chance to use the iPads daily. My students and I appreciate anything you can give us!
