These materials will make a huge difference in bringing fun, games-based learning into our classroom. The games have been carefully selected to support our learning in math and social studies, as well as provide stimulating educational experiences for us during rainy day recesses (which happen often in Seattle!). Finally, the vacuum will keep our classroom cleaner as we have struggled with turnover with our custodial staff this year. Teachers, parents, and students know that more learning happens when it's fun! A Math Bingo library will motivate us to practice our multiplication and division facts, which are an essential foundation for all higher-level mathematics. The prefix and suffix game will help us develop our bilingual brains, since most prefixes and suffixes are Latin roots that are common transfer between English and Spanish. The Native American and USA games will help us solidify the social studies learning we are doing. Summarily, these games will help transform dull practice into engaging, collaborative classroom experiences.
