Suicide is the #1 cause of death among Utah Teens. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought with it an increase in depression and anxiety among our students. Mental health efforts in schools are quickly becoming more and more necessary. NSHS has a suicide prevention team made up of a supervisor and amazing students. Among many activities that we promote each year, we like to celebrate the students of NSHS along with their amazing talents and uniqueness. To do this, we highlight students on posters which we hang up in a designated place in our lunchroom. Unfortunately, these often fall down, get misplaced, and are occasionally written on or destroyed. With the enclosed bulletin board that I am requesting, we can ensure that these posters as well as other activities we hang up are locked safely in this display case. This will ensure that not only are our things never lost or harmed, but also brings a greater level of organization and neatness to our purpose. I recognize that this bulletin board will cost more than the allotted $1000 being offered through the state board of education. I am prepared to pay for the additional costs.
