These materials will help engage our students in sensory fun. Most people don't realize how important sensory is to autistic kids. A child with autism often struggles with sensory processing disorder. This causes them to see and feel the world completely different than a typical child. A sensory station will help regulate them when they become over stimulated. All of these items will help our students every single day. They will keep them from having melt downs and help them through the struggle of a difficult day. Autism is often misunderstood by people because each child is so different. They are learning everyday how to do things we take for granted like eating, toileting, walking without falling over, leaving parents and so on.
