My students are bright and creative. They are incredibly diverse and generous with their stories. Many countries are represented and it helps guide the art class to adventurous destinations. They enjoy painting, drawing and sculpting with the supplies we have access to but we would like to try using fibers to mix colors and create master pieces in a less obvious way. My students like working together even if the project is individual. This unit on fabric arts is meant to create a final product that unites not only a class but all of my art classes together (as well as give each child a final product to take home).
