My children have special needs and most are low-income. Being developmentally low with needs in cognitive, attention, fine motor, and communication skills, the items I selected would support their learning by repetition in their science, math, and language art curriculum. They learn by"doing" even more so than their average-age peer. Children learn through play, engaging hands- on activities that are stimulated through ones senses. Regular curriculum is fast-moving and isn't always an option, worksheets sometimes aren't engaging enough to keep their attention and stagger the children's progress. I spend hours tailoring their curriculum and activities to their specific needs. By your support, you will be strengthening their reasoning, thinking, communication, and fine motor skills so they will be able to succeed in building the skills that they struggle with. I have seen how enriching their hands-on play experiences has made such a difference in their learning progression. These materials will not only add to their learning involvement in their curriculum, but the students will climb to new heights.
