Have you heard the phrase, "Reading Across the Curriculum" ? Reading is part of our everyday lives and we have to build those basic skills in our little readers. The 100 Words books, for example, can support sight word development and increase reading and phonemic awareness. I also chose Dav Pilkey's books since this is a constant request by my kiddos when we are looking at our book choices in our slim collection of material. Suddenly, the power went out. Yes, this does happen and can impact the ability to read on a smartphone or iPad. If you have a book, you can still read; well as long as you have some batteries for that flashlight (size D - keep them on hand)
