We are requesting four Galaxy Tablets and leveled reader sets which will help bring more technological resources and literacy materials into my classroom. Our school has limited funding and resources to be able to provide any more. These tablets and books will provide the opportunity for my students to engage in reading programs that are fundamental for their success. Many of my students do not have resources that they can use at home to continue reinforcing the knowledge that they obtain at school. It is very important to form a bridge between the home and school communities. It is very critical that I provide as many opportunities as possible for each and every one of them. Reading is a fundamental skill that is needed for my students to succeed in all the other content areas and it is critical to emphasize the importance of reading at school so my students can be successful.
