Our elementary school will be visited by the author Sarah Albee who writes about historical events in an engaging and humorous way. Children will participate in the process authors go through to create a piece of writing and have the chance to talk to a real author. Through this invaluable opportunity, students will realize that each and every one of them is an author. They will learn how Sarah Albee utilizes craft in her writing, and incorporates voice and humor. Sarah will describe how she researches a topic that she is writing about, and detail the steps of revision that she goes through. The children will hear fun facts and true stories that will motivate them to read and learn more about history. Sarah will also give students the chance to have their books signed by a real author! This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to be a part of. Please help me bring Sarah Albee to our school to create lifelong readers and writers!
