This year, our district intends to have all students return back to the classroom full-time. COVID cases are rising in the city which is going to cause major disruption in providing instruction. Students we be quarantine if they contract COVID or have had contact with someone with covid systems. This means the student will be required to attend virtual instruction while quarantining. Last year, I juggled 3 different Chromebooks to provide instruction to my students. The laptop I am asking will help me provide steady streaming of videos to my students in class and at their home without having to stop instruction to reboot, restart, switch to another device which causes a pause in the academic day. Engagement is an essential component of instruction. Once a teacher has to stop and solve a technical challenge, we lose the interest and attention to many students. Streaming engaging videos, creating engaging lessons with the use of Mac features will help me to get students engaged. I believe with the use of this device I can engage, motivate, challenge, and continue to provide instruction in class and remote setting.
