Hello, my name is Andrew and I am a teacher at PPMS, a Title I school in the state of Florida. I am raising money to help offset the cost of taking a group of seven students to travel to Ecuador in the spring of 2019. Students will spend nine days in Ecuador doing community service in one of the local indigenous communities along the Napo River in the Amazon Rainforest. . Students will spend three days volunteering their time, in partnership with Me to We charities, to help address issues of education, clean water and sustainable agriculture. Not only will students gain valuable experience working and living abroad but they will also have the opportunity to earn a high school credit. In addition, the opportunity to travel and volunteer abroad will give students a significant advantage when writing college application essays. Most importantly though, the experience will make a lasting impact on students lives that will positively impact the trajectory of their professional futures. All money raised will be used to offset the cost of student travel. For most families the expenditure for this trip is exceedingly difficult. It is my hope to help offset the cost of travel as to ease the financial burden on these families seeking to give their children the opportunity to travel abroad. This truly is an experience that can forever positively affect a child's life not just academically and professionally but personally as well.
