My students love working together and collaborating during our Math Workshop time. Something about getting down on the carpet and writing with a colorful dry erase marker turns rounding numbers to the nearest hundred from a dull task to the most exciting thing since fidget spinners! They love the Meet With Teacher rotation because they get to do just that. We play rapid fire math fact games, answer questions, problem solve, and identify and define key vocabulary all using our dry erase boards and rainbow markers. Initially I was surprised at how much enthusiasm they came to the carpet with, but now I expect it, encourage it, and will do everything in my power to foster it!
