I have been a special education teacher for 23 years. The number one disability I work with is ADHD. Having the dry erase table would enable my students to interact and participate in class without using paper all the time. The yoga seats will help to keep them moving while they concentrate on their work. This project will enable my students to be more successful and learn in a different way. Students that are given opportunities to do their work in unique ways are more likely to stay engaged. Everyday, students are forced to sit and work in the traditional way (with papers and pencils). This can stifle the creativity of students that think in non-traditional ways. Students that are forced to stay still all day have no outlet for their energy and get in trouble as a result. I want to give my student a path to succeed that matches their individual personalities and strengths.
