I feel starting a library in my office full of books on tough situations will help when I am working with them. I am a School Counselor, and I work daily with students that are going through trauma (death, divorce, loss, bullying) - and sometimes having a book that relates can help them process what is happening in their lives. Attendance at times is problematic for a family due to these issues, so if I can start their day with a book that can get them in the class and ready to learn, that will benefit their academics as well as improve their attendance.
