A paper shredder was chosen for this project as a way to provide students in learning additional job skills. As the number of students in the class grows, the number of job internships at the school does not. Having a paper shredder would allow another student the opportunity to participate. Students would be able to collect paper bins from the department teachers and others at the school who would like to be involved, shred the papers and then return the bins to the correct teacher. While this job seems simple, it requires a lot from students. They need to follow a schedule, read the teacher's name or room number, practice communication skills, practice time management, and job completion.
