It's no secret that schools are limited when it comes to funds; even if some of the things are more of a need than a want. I believe these materials would give our class more to do, especially with the limitation we have in our room. It will allow our special ed children to be exposed to things they may not normally be exposed to. It will enhance the learning experience. These new material will spark teachable moments. It will help create a space for the children when they are unable to go outside or isn't able to be among their peers. We need a little bit of love to help create this space. The items I am requesting are for the development of a gross motor room for our preschool students. I am requesting hopscotch carpets, portable basketball hoop, bean bag toss game, giant building blocks, exercise bikes, and some fidgets. These items will not only create a space for our preschoolers but it will benefit their gross motor skills. When you incorporate gross motor activities using the whole body in this setting it increases social skills, self control, coordination, confidence, attention, mood and so on.
