These materials will support my students in their mission to go out into the community and improve it by giving of their time to local people and organizations. We will read this text as a class for inspiration and ideas for possibly inspiring others to do good by "Paying It Forward". In our classroom, we utilize Dave Ramsey curriculum which encourages student to avoid debt and create a financial plan for their future. This curriculum ends with the notion of building their wealth and giving to others. This novel would be a great addition to what we are learning and students will be challenged to donate and log their time. We will discuss the merits of citizenship and how we can improve our surroundings as we progress through each chapter of this book.
