Each week our middle school hosts "Fun Friday's". Different themes are chosen by students to encourage school spirit and camaraderie amongst students and staff. One particular theme is held each month, "Dream Big, Wear A College T-Shirt". After a disappointing participation rate, teachers began asking students if they had any type of college apparel to wear for these days. Unfortunately, most students did not. Even more disappointing was that students didn't even have an understanding that there are over 5,000 colleges and universities in the U.S. alone. Most only knew of the ones in close proximity to where they live. By donating to our project you will expose our middle school students to colleges and universities around the country. Conversations will start to take place among the students when they see students wearing different logos. They will want to know, "Who are you wearing?" and be inspired to continue to dream big, because if they work for it, nothing is out of reach for them!
