Photography is a gateway into creative expression through visual arts. Although I am a proud educator, I am also a photographer and want to share that passion with my students by starting a photography club at our school. This project would help my students get hands-on experience with mirrorless cameras and editing software that will allow them to explore the creative field of photography. Students will use the cameras to learn about the creative process and discover the art of photography. Post-processing and editing is a major creative part in photography. The computer will allow the students to learn about various creative applications such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. The donations for this project will allow me to start a photography club and teach my students about lighting, composition techniques and give them a creative outlet for exploration of the visual arts. Careers in the creative field and marketing are growing fast. Experience in photography, videography, as well as various creative applications such as Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, is becoming a skill set many employers in the technology space desire. My project will not only teach students the fundamentals of the creative design process but will motivate them to explore alternative career fields in the arts and tech space.
