In my office I like to provide students with appropriate ways to fidget and move during our sessions. I have a bucket of fidget items available for them to use while we talk. I have to change these items out regularly as many hands touch them and on occasion I allow students to borrow them and use them in the classroom in order to help lower their anxiety and promote healthy coping skills. When students are able to intentionally fidget or move it lowers anxiety, helps them to stay focused and increases their ability to learn. This project will give me resources to help support my students in my office and their class. Intentional fidgeting can help them be successful in many settings. These simple items can help to reduce their anxiety and improve their focus.
