I am building a department on the philosophy that students learn by doing. As a new school, we are limited on classroom supplies beyond standard textbooks and lab equipment. I would like to incorporate games into the classroom as they will help engage students in the learning process. Students will learn how natural and man-made events can affect an ecosystem. Key learning Skills 13d. construct a written argument to predict the impact of environmental change on the stability of an ecosystem (primary and secondary succession) 13d1. construct a written explanation of how biodiversity can be affected by environmental changes (temperature, pH, drought, fire) 13d2. plan and carry out investigations to explore the impact of environmental changes on biodiversity within an ecosystem 13e. design a solution to reduce the impact of a human activity on the environment (may include chemical use, natural resources consumption, introduction of nonnative species, climate change)
