When I first came into the classroom this summer, there was 1 book! Through books that other teachers departed with, thrift stores and garage sales, and bringing in my own library from home (which I had to take away from my own kiddos), we have enough to fill 6 ontainers of books; but we do not have enough to sustain student interest nor to create lifelong readers! We need books that are on the 2nd grade level that include both fiction and nonfiction. We want students to love to read and with our limited selection, that's not all on a 2nd grade level or the level our students are, we need to help them. Please help us help them.
