In order to provide the best learning experiences for my students, it is important for me to observe their actions and figure out their interests. I have found that my students enjoy using their tiny hands to build structures out of our classroom materials. I find much joy in watching the kids get creative with various materials in order to build elaborate homes for their animals. My students are very appreciative of the materials that we have in the classroom, however we are limited in what we have. I would love to expand our collection in order to best serve my students. With the tinker toys, 3-D blocks, and playground set, my students can start to build new structures with materials that they have not worked with before. I can already picture their smiling faces when they see their new materials! My students are English Language Learners. This means that English is not their first language. Many of them speak Spanish at home and that is well-supported at school. My students teach me new Spanish words every day and I absolutely love it! With that being said, they are still working hard to learn the alphabet as well as starting to sound out words. The word puzzles and cookie letters kit will help my students recognize letters and sounds in an engaging way!
