Providing alternative and flexible seating options for my students will allow my students to move more often and increase their blood flow to their brain. Wiggle stools and Gel-E-Seats are the simplest tools on the market to provide alternative seating options. I have borrowed a Wiggle stool and Gel-E-Seat from other classrooms in our building for a day to see if it actually made a difference, and WOW, it does! Having flexible seating will allow me to help my several students with ADD and ADHD, from having to go the medication route at such a young age. I have so much I want to teach my kiddos. Helping them focus, by having flexible seating options, will help me do this for my kiddos I have this year, and the kiddos in the years to come!
