Here in the art studio at McDonald International Elementary School, we learn about art from all over the world! This year we are focusing on the theme of art activism. We began the year drawing inspiration from Yoko Ono's Imagine Peace project and created our very own school Wishing Tree. Students drew and wrote wishes for the world and tied them to the tree. We are excited to be participating in this international art project, and we can't wait to send our wishes to the Imagine Peace Tower in Reykjavik at the end of the year. Soon we will explore street art and design our own peace symbols to inspire hope for a better world. We invite you to join us on our journey to study diverse art movements and create projects that inspire positive change!
