My students are medically fragile and all have severe special needs. If I had a dishwasher to ensure their tools for eating and learning were sanitized properly, I could increase their days at school, livelihood and general health. Each day, my students work on skills of daily living such as brushing their teeth, hand washing, organizing items such as laundry, silverware and shapes, and self feeding using adapted tools. I wash all these items each day in our sink, but if I could ensure their cleanliness with the use of a dishwasher, think how many more days they could be at school learning about the world around them!
