Our students enjoy art and I have been designing lessons that reflect famous artists along the way. We have talked about the great masterpieces and show them that in art one can weave in language arts and math. The supplies that I have requested will help explore the different styles that artist has depicted in their work. For example using the liquid watercolor I can have the students learn to explore Juan Miro's "People and Dog in Sun." by drawing stick figures, stars and circles. By donating to our class our students will get the chance to experience using different art materials and media to create their own projects. Art is one of those areas where it exercises the other half of the brain and helps with academics by allowing the students to be problem solvers and creative with their work.
