These iPads will help to enhance the novel studies that our 5th grade class does throughout the school year. As a class, we study five novels per year. My 5th graders love "book talks"-after we've finished a unit, they present a 30-second synopsis to the class. I would like to use iPads and Apple software (iMovie) to take our book talks to the next level. Students will use iPads to film and edit "30 Second Trailers" for the novels that we read in class. They will write the scripts, perform, and edit the footage on their own. We will then showcase all finished products to fellow students and parents. By donating, you will be contributing not only to the financial needs of our classroom, but to the creativity of a group of students who love reading and would like to express that.
