These items will help my students concentrate during lessons, focus while they are working, allow them to move their body after sitting, and give them an opportunity to calm down during moments of sensory dysregulation. Each item has special use during class time and are excellent sources of comfort for the students. We use a lap pad when we have difficulty remaining in our seat, while the shape sorter is easy enough to help students refocus when they need a break. The balance board is two fold; it can help us quickly move our bodies when we have to sit for extended periods of time and for some students, it helps to engage their core muscles while will help with speech!
