My students and their families are confronted with limited resources because schools, enrichment programs and libraries have either been closed or have had very strict limitations since March of 2020. I would like to supplement materials that may be used at home as well as in class. The non-fiction books will add to my existing library so that I may have enough of a variety of story titles to safely rotate them as read-at-home libraries for each student. The construction paper will allow me to direct my students in craft projects that will lead to more cutting and tearing. This work with paper helps to build fine motor skills. And making crafts will also help build my students’ self-esteem. I would like to receive storage bins to update my 20+ year old bins which are yellowed, chipped and stained with time. Having new bins to store materials not only allows me to continue to keep things organized, but it will look appealing to my students upon their return.
