To become a reader is like finding a new friend. There is a whole new world awaiting when you open a book. The Fire HD 8 Kids Edition Tablet will allow my children to listen and read along with books, as well as read the tablet like a book. The Kindle Fire will offer another avenue to learn. It will encourage my students to play educational games that will help them learn to recognize letters and sounds and build pre-reading skills. It will also help with language development and vocabulary. Starting in kindergarten, if a student reads 20 minutes a day, they will hear 1.8 million words per year. They will have read for 851 hours by 6th grade, and on standardized tests, they will likely score better than 90% of their peers. .
