Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein will continue to enhance the rigor and exposure my students have become accustomed to this school year. I teach in an AP Literature for all high school and find my students are excited tackling themes and writings from different eras and viewpoints. Every student will receive a book and treat it with love and care! We (me and the students) are thankful for the opportunities to read. Frankenstein has been chosen with students in mind-I have watched them this school year read titles that have challenged them to reach higher levels and think outside their everyday experiences. I know while the title more than likely be familiar, this will be the chance to continue to expand their knowledge.
With this new book, my students will be able to grow more clever in their understanding of human experiences and real world understandings.
The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in reading, and exposure to this piece of literature will only help enrich their experiences!
