An electronic pencil sharpener is a tool that every classroom must have. Every morning, I sharpen pencils for 26 children in my room. The very first thing we do every morning is our Rise and Shine Journals where we write about anything that comes to our minds and hearts. It is a beautiful time for my "firsties" to express themselves. Then, we jump right into our reading stations where students are constantly moving and recording their answers on paper, again, using pencils! Next, we have our writing block. Students take out their writing folders and you know what else? Pencils! Their little brains begin flowing and pouring unto paper. Finally, we have our math stations. Students rotate around the room writing their fluency facts, completing unit related worksheets, and writing down answers to my math problems. With what you may ask? Pencils! Our need for easily available sharpened pencils cannot be stressed enough! An electronic sharpener will ease that problem. Thank you in advanced for taking the time to read this.
