Our class will be participating in a STEM Fair at the end of this school year. We are thinking of building a community using LEGO materials including some robotics and use coding to power them up. Students will use their observation skills, collect data using the iPad, use their imagination to recreate their community and the effects it has in their life. Coding will teach them critical thinking, follow directions, collaborate, cause and effect, problem-solving, communicate through the iPad and have the joy of accomplishment. We are teaching them functional activities as part of our academics and these materials can help them make the connection to real-life situations. These students learn best when they are able to use all modalities during the learning process.
