We are asking the students in my school to bridge gaps in their reading. I want to make sure to ask them to work hard in a fun and engaging way. If students are having fun they are more likely to retain what they are being taught. They will work harder to attain their goals. All of the items on the list will be used in one way or another to make reading class more fun and engaging; my goal is to get the students to love reading as much as I do. The Chromebook will be used to dig deeper into the vocabulary as well as during reading centers for tasks such as research, publishing, and reading. The books will be used for read alouds. Some are for fun but most have educational purposes. We need new speakers because my current ones keep cutting in and out. The microphone will be used for public speaking as the students share books they read and want to encourage their peers to read. The witch fingers will be used as a fun and engaging way to track the words on the page. The EXPO markers, pencils, and pencil sharpener are listed because we ran out last year even with me purchasing a large quantity of these items.
