By providing students access to Scope Magazine, my hope is that they can obtain the perfect fusion of current events, informational texts, and fictional texts in order to satisfy their curiosity and desire to understand the world around them. Students are often hesitant to pick up a large book or read an online news article - this project is a means to counteract that. They can find articles unfamiliar and books to be intimidating. However, Scope Magazine offers a less intimidating, easier, and more enjoyable way to satisfy their natural curiosity. The content is engaging and caters to the middle school mind in a way that students learn without realizing it!

About my class
