I work in a school where students are faced with trauma. These tools will help students learn how to feel secure and calm themselves down during the day. The lighting will be used to provide a softening effect in our quiet station. Students will have the opportunity to use the weighted blanket to feel secure in their space. The fidget tools will enable students to practice fine motor skills and focus on daily tasks. Teaching children to self calm and feel secure in school is essential to their academic process. When they don't feel calm and secure, they can become very aggressive towards themselves and others. These tools will help my students learn to calm themselves down, which is a skill that is necessary for the rest of their lives.
