As of now, my students are stuck with an older version of TI-84 calculators. This has two major implications: 1. The newer versions use pretty-print, which displays mathematical equations in the form that they are written on the blackboard and in textbooks. Thus, if they make a mistake while inputting numbers into a calculator, they are able to find their mistakes easily. Moreover, they are able to spend more time setting up equations and doing Math, than getting frustrated by their equipment. 2. The newer versions have a new operating system. This allows for more menu style shortcuts, which makes the process of inputting information much easier and more intuitive. As an example, to enter matrices on the old calculators you need about 10 keystrokes, and the matrix does not show up on the actual calculator screen. This is reduced to 2 keystrokes on the newer calculators, and the matrix actually shows up on the screen so that the matrix equation resembles the equation that they saw on the board. 3. The newer calculators have color.
