Google Expedition is an outstanding application that allows students to essentially take field trips around the world. In 7th grade we learn about geography and cultures around the world, both ancient and present. Many of my student have never left their town, let alone seen the ruins of Ancient Greece, the banks of the Mediterranean, or the Pantheon and the Colosseum. Google Cardboard will afford my students the opportunity to do just that. Using their own personal devices, they will be able to utilize the virtual reality, which will be led by me, the teacher, through the educational application. If you have never seen Google Expedition or Google cardboard, please take the time to research these amazing tools for education and imagine what your own education would’ve been like if you were able to experience the world and other cultures first hand.
