My students come from an area with an 85% poverty rate. Their families struggle to provide food, let alone books. When they are in school, they love to jump into new, exciting worlds through reading. I want to continue to foster their love of reading by providing fascinating titles that capture their imagination. These books will increase their literacy skills, and increase their love of learning. These books have the opportunity to turn them into lifelong readers and learners. Becoming such will positively affect their future: they will set higher goals for their future, including college and exciting professions. Such a powerful effect on their lives has the potential to better their socioeconomic status for themselves and their families. Please consider donating to my project.

About my class
