These materials will help enhance the engaging classroom that I strive to create for my students. The right materials can inspire purposeful play and learning that can be integrated throughout the curriculum. I have chosen items that will help my kindergarteners explore literacy and math in a developmentally appropriate way. Providing opportunities for children to practice what they are learning through playful learning will positively increase academic achievement and engagement in my kindergarten classroom. Writing words at the light table, creating words/sentences/math stories at the lego activity center, using letter stamps to spell sight words at the play-dough station, and retelling stories at the felt board are just some of the ways these materials will allow learners to practice early math and reading skills in a playful way!
