My music students are fabulous creative individuals working on finding their voice! The kids work really hard and want to learn and experience playing the modern band songs with instruments they see their favorite popular musicians playing. However, most of my students do not have opportunities to play instruments outside of school. My students are craving to play, the popular music they are working on, with instruments the songs were actually written for. At the moment I only have a drumset with no cymbals to create our Little Kids Rock Band. The students are doing great with the instruments we have, but they are ready to grow and push their limits. Having a small set up where students could rotate while the rest of the class works on the parts with other simple acoustic instruments would not only motivate my kids to work harder, it would allow them to feel like the rock stars that I know each of them are.
