I chose the Tinkering Labs Electric Motors to support will support my 3-5 grade students in understanding of the use of Energy as they build circuits using real motors and hardware to support mechanical, sound and electrical forms of energy. The Magnetic Tiles and K'Nex will help the students understand force and motion and gravity as the make connections while building items that will change based on magnetic fields and how high and wide they build. I chose the Bee-Bots Programmable Robot to focus on teaching the younger students directions as they maneuver the Bee-Bots as directed to demonstrate left right, up and down. The older students will use the Bee-Bots to plot and graph maneuvering it about on a map to demonstrate an understanding of line plots and graphing. This year as a resource teacher I have been given the challenge of giving all the students in the school free time to play in my classroom. The goal of this project is to allow the Free Play time to incorporate needed learning standards while the students are playing freely.
